2027:Yari Seeks Emir Of Gwandu Blessing For Tinubu’s Re-election

The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari, on Monday sought royal blessing at the Abdullahi Fodio Palace in Birnin Kebbi, the palace of the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Yari, who was in Kebbi on a mobilisation visit, said the courtesy call to the Emir’s palace was to seek fatherly prayers and royal blessings for the success of President Tinubu and the APC, declaring that Kebbi State is firmly behind the President.

The visit brought together traditional rulers within the state under one umbrella at the palace, demonstrating the unity of the traditional institution. The Emir warmly received the delegation and offered prayers for peace, unity and the success of the Tinubu administration.

After the palace visit, Yari met with Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, and other APC stakeholders, where he commended the governor for bringing the emirs together and for mobilising grassroots support for the party.

“We are leading the campaign for the President’s re-election and other candidates of our party. We appreciate you for bringing the emirs together under one umbrella at the Emir of Gwandu’s palace. We recognise what you are doing as governors and your contributions towards ensuring victory for our party in 2027,” Yari said.

On insecurity, Yari acknowledged the challenges but maintained that the Tinubu administration is making efforts to address them.

“If a retired General did his best but could not completely tackle insecurity, what do you expect of President Tinubu, who is not a General? Nevertheless, the President has done his utmost best to address the security challenges confronting the country,” he stated.

On the economy, he said inflation has declined and fertiliser prices have reduced, while the Federal Government is implementing measures including cash transfers to vulnerable households.

In his response, Governor Idris thanked the Emir of Gwandu for hosting the delegation and said Kebbi has benefited immensely from federal projects under Tinubu.

“We have no reason not to support the President. You have seen the people of Kebbi and their overwhelming support. We are for the APC, and we are for President Tinubu,” governor Nasiru Idris declared.
