Kwankwaso: I Won’t Allow Primate Ayodele To Destroy My Reputation
From Muhammad Kabir, Kano
The Vice Presidential Candidate of NDC Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has slammed a 24 hour ultimatum to Primate Ayodele asking him to retract his libelous comments on him or faces legal actions.
Kwankwaso narrates how he was embarrassed when Ayodele talked about him in a more libelous means, he said, “in Kano, Abuja, even outside Nigeria. My phone started buzzing nonstop. Clips of a sermon. A voice I know, calling me “a fake to Obi,” saying “Kwankwaso will betray you,” saying “Kwankwaso has been paid.”
He reminded that he has  been in public service for decades. Two terms as Governor of Kano. Minister of Defence. Deputy Speaker, Senator, Presidential candidate. Now VP candidate for NDC. Every title came with scrutiny, but also with a name I spent years building.
“You don’t spend 40 years in politics to let your name become content for a 30-second clip. Not when the words are said to millions, live, with no fact and no call to verify.
“So I called my lawyers at Magaji Mato Ibrahim SAN & Co. Not for anger. For record. We drafted the letter on 11th June, 2026. We laid out the facts. We asked for what any man would ask for when his name is dragged: retract it, apologize, stop the spread.
Kwankwaso cleared that it’s not about silencing a pulpit. It’s about protecting truth. If you disagree with my politics, debate me on policy, on Kano, on Nigeria. But don’t manufacture lies and feed them to a congregation.
“Now the ball is in his court. I’m waiting. Nigeria is watching. And I’ll let the law and the public decide if a reputation earned over decades gets defended, or gets defined by a viral sermon.”
