2027: First Gombe Civilian Governor, Hashidu’s Supporters, Political Family Support Jamilu Candidature

The political associates and key members of the political family of the late first civilian Governor of Gombe State, Alhaji Abubakar Habu Hashidu, have declared their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Gombe State, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The declaration was made during an enlarged meeting of the associates, where members expressed confidence in Dr. Gwamna’s leadership capacity, experience and commitment to the development of Gombe State.
The meeting, held Saturday is significant given the longstanding relationship between Dr. Gwamna and the Hashidu’s political family, which dates back several years.
Speaking at the meeting, the leader of the group, Alh. Daudu Umar Abdulsalam (Magajin Garin Gona), said their decision was based on longstanding personal and political relationships with Dr. Gwamna, as well as their assessment of his capacity to lead the state.
“Our support for Jamil Gwamna is not something that started today or because of the 2027 election. There is a history of cordial relationship and loyalty between him and the late Governor Hashidu, and many of us have known him for years.
“We have seen his character, his commitment and his capacity, and we believe he deserves our support for the responsibility ahead.
“We are coming together as people who worked closely with our late leader and understand the values he stood for and independently decided to support Jamil Gwamna because we believe in his ability to provide purposeful leadership and move Gombe State forward”
The associates noted that the Hashidu political family remains an important political structure in Gombe State, comprising experienced politicians, grassroots leaders, community figures and loyal associates who have contributed significantly to the political development of the state over the years.
Among those at the enlarged meeting were Alh. Daudu Umar Abdulsalam (Magajin Garin Gona), Alh. Gimba Marafa, Alh. Abba Waziri (Sarkin Dabe), Dr. Hassan Langa, Dr. Habu Dahiru, Hon. Liman Gombe, Alh. Magajin Makeri and Adiel Zakariya.
Others include Alh. Umar Daudu Kaltungo, Barr. Garba Guruza, Abdullahi Musa PA, Mr. Kilang Mela, Abubakar Sani Baba, Alh. Sani Barwa, Mr. Husaini Bayero and Mal. Ibrahim Kanku among others.
The development represents another significant consolidation of support around Dr. Gwamna’s 2027 governorship ambition and underscores the depth of relationships between him and Hashidu’s political family.
