Why Deputy Senate President Barau Will Wins 5th Term, Alfindiki
From Muhammad Kabir, Kano
The growing overwhelming supports across not only Kano North Senatorial District but across Kano State, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, is enjoying shows that his 5th Term journey is just a done deal.
Senator Barau gaining formidable momentum across Kano North Senatorial District, came following persistent Decamping out of other Parties to APC by the Residents and through the Senator.
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Faizu Alfindiki, made the assertion on Saturday while describing the senator’s expanding support base as evidence that his return to the Red Chamber in 2027 is increasingly becoming a political certainty.
Addressing newsmen in Kano, Alfindiki said the growing acceptance of Barau cuts across political divides and social groups, claiming that some former lawmakers, opposition elements, artisans and ordinary residents at the grassroots were increasingly identifying with the senator’s ambition.
“Senator Barau’s fifth-term bid is a done deal. The support he is receiving is not limited to politicians; it cuts across former lawmakers, artisans and the downtrodden at the grassroots,” Alfindiki said.
He attributed the development to what he described as Barau’s visible impact across the 13 local government areas of Kano North, particularly in infrastructure and other interventions that, according to him, have strengthened the senator’s connection with constituents.
“His infrastructure development across the 13 local government areas is overwhelming. The people can see and feel the impact, and that is one of the reasons his support continues to grow,” he stated.
Alfindiki also pointed to Barau’s experience at the National Assembly as another factor working in his favour, arguing that his long years in the Red Chamber and current position as Deputy President of the Senate had given him considerable political and legislative advantage.
He stressed that Barau’s political appeal has gone beyond party structures, with individuals previously associated with opposing political tendencies increasingly embracing his return to the Senate.
“The love for Barau is real. Every day, more people who were once on the other side are embracing his ambition because they believe in what he represents and the experience he has acquired over the years,” he added.
Alfindiki expressed confidence that the combination of Barau’s legislative experience, developmental interventions and grassroots acceptance would give the senator a commanding advantage in the 2027 contest.
He insisted that the political equation in Kano North was increasingly tilting in his favour from all angles of permutations
