Progressive Arm Of ADC: Ibrahim Little Remains Gubernatorial Candidate…Others Are Imposters
From Muhammad Kabir Kano
The progressive arm of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano has dismissed the endorsement of Ibrahim Khalil by the so-called ESILT members.
According to the group the dissolved ESILT has no mandate to discuss issues relating to the affairs of the ADC.
The spokesperson of the group, Alhaji Abba Abdulhamid, said ESILT is not the body responsible for handling ADC affairs, adding that the person currently saddled with the responsibility of managing the party’s affairs in Kano is Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad.
He further stated that the tenure of Musa Ungogo’s executive had elapsed in the previous month.
The group accused some former ESILT members of posing as ADC leaders despite having no moral or political authority to do so.
Alhaji Abdulhamid also criticized today’s (Sunday) press conference by some members, describing their claims as misleading, while challenging them to provide documents to support their allegations.
According to him, there was never any primary election conducted in Kano, adding that their claims should be backed with evidence.
He said the conference further showed their desperation, stressing that no governorship primary election took place in Kano.
He added that the seven-member committee constituted by the national leadership was given the responsibility to review the situation and arrive at a decision after due consultation and consideration.
“We still wonder why In spite of their claim that Malam Khalil is commanding support among Kano electorate was able to get 5000 votes only out of the 2million votes cast while others got above 800, 000 and 1 million in 2023″ , he noted.
The ADC Young Progressives forum spokesman further seeks clarification from the so,-called ADC stakeholders on why their aspirant, precisely Malam Ibrahim Khalil in an interview with an international radio praised President Bola Tinubu as a ‘perfect leader, which ADC members condenmed as unwarranted , pointing out that alone shows element of divided loyalty between the ADC as Major opposition and the ruling APC.
The spokesperson accused the Mambo/ Ungogo conference as almost the last bidding allegedly being sponsored by the opposition to discredit ADC leadership, urging party faithfulls to remain focus and calm.
