Kano APC Stakeholders Meeting: Intrigues, Maneuvers And The Underhand Dealings

From Muhammad Kabir, Kano
The Kano All Progressive Congress APC, stakeholders meeting, conducted Thursday to Friday, morning though peaceful, but left so many unanswered questions on so many issues that have to do with the Contests of different Political offices in State.
Although, one of the main takes home from the stakeholders meeting was the unanimous adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections and the pledged of a donation of N50 million towards the purchase of his expression of interest and nomination forms, but still the Party is having heavy unsettled matters behind.
The who is who in the Kano APC meeting that lasted several hours was unable to settle the curious issues of consensuses, although the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has gotten a smooth sales into his 2nd Term ambition as the Consensus candidate, but other positions were left to sort themselves out.
One of the critical zone of concern in the APC Kano unsettled contest matter is Kano North Senatorial District, where the present Deputy President of the Senate Senator Barau Jibrin is to sort it out with his arch Political rival and a Former Minister, Deputy Governor, Local Government Chairman, Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo.
Senator Barau Jibrin, conspicuous absent at the meeting alongside his godson the State Minister of Housing, Yusuf Atta, raises the dust and the inside to the intrigues, Maneuvers going on in the Kano APC Stakeholders Meeting.
Although, Governor Yusuf, tried his possible best to explained the absence of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, but many believes that there are more than meet the eyes in the going on of the APC in Kano.
Barau Jibrin fought to the last the appointment of the State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo who was also a godson of former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and it is on notice that for quite a long time there was a great discontent between the Ganduje’s camp and that of Barau Jibrin.
Now, that the stakeholders insisted that Contestants should go and settle themselves to Sunday 3th May and bring back who is going to bear for a particular seat or in the events that failed there should be Primary Elections to have a party flag bearer of any seat, to many that’s arrangement have pave way for real intriguing politicking while people like Senator Abdurahman Kawu Sumaila is also facing threats to his reelection from Alhassan Rirum a serving Reps Member from Kiru/Rano Federal Constituency, see the development as a welcome one.
Another person that is facing heavy threat on his seat and who is going to sort it out with particularly, one of his biggest Local Government, Tuduwada Local Government where a Retired Military Officer Yushau is sorting out with him is Alhassan Ado Doguwa.
To the Former House Leader and now the Chairman of the Downstream Petroleum Committee Alhassan Ado Doguwa, is a battle to finished, he sees his return to the National Assembly as the most important thing to happen to him, while there is great conspiracy from some people of Tuduwada Local Government to ensure that this time around after more 16 years of the representation of Doguwa at the National Assembly, they should produce their Son to replace him.
Whatever it is to President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, they have gotten their smooth sales with them been presented as Consensus candidates.
The action, through a motion for the adoption of President Tinubu was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and received unanimous support from stakeholders present at the meeting.
Speaking during the session, the Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, disclosed that the state chapter had initially intended to purchase the nomination forms outright but resolved instead to contribute financially in support of the president’s candidature.
“We have agreed to contribute the sum of N50 million towards the purchase of the expression of interest and nomination forms for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
The stakeholders noted that the endorsement reflects their confidence in the president’s leadership and ongoing reforms, as well as their collective resolve to ensure the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting also reaffirmed the endorsement of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the APC’s sole governorship candidate in Kano State, as part of efforts to strengthen unity and cohesion within the party.
The Kano State Government commends the stakeholders for their unwavering support and calls on all party members to remain united in advancing the collective interest of the party and then development of the state.
However, beyond commendations and the open resolutions of no automatic tickets for anybody apart from the Governor, so many issues are left undiluted.
For example, the intrigues of replacement plans, of some key offices, including that of Alhassan Ado Doguwa with the Retired Military Officer Yushau, the game plans against Senator Barau Jibrin and the strong moves by Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo a Former Minister to takes on the seat, the moves by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa against Jobe in the Dawakin Tofa Federal Constituency.
