Pantami Adviser, Others Dump PDP Supports APC Jamilu Gwamna Candidature

The APC Gombe State Governorship Candidate, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has received another significant boost following the resignation of Muhammad Buhari Dalhatu, Special Adviser to PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Professor Isa Ali Pantami on Youth Leadership and Community Engagement, and his subsequent declaration of support for Dr. Gwamna.
Dalhatu, who formally tendered his resignation, reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and declared his support for Dr. Gwamna and the success of the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections.
His decision, alongside other PDP Supporters is significant not only because of the position he occupied, but because it adds to a growing list of individuals who have worked closely with Professor Pantami and have since chosen a different political direction.
Before Dalhatu, several notable figures and close associates had moved away from Pantami’s political camp. They include Affan Buba Abuya, his former Personal Assistant; Sunusin Gombe, known as Ameer who coordinated the Pantamiyya political structure; and Dahiru Saidu Nafada, a close ally and influential figure in Professor Pantami’s political journey, who has now aligned with Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.
Nafada’s decision is Widely regarded as an important figure in both the personal and political circles of Professor Pantami, his alignment with Dr. Gwamna sends a strong political signal at a critical stage in the build-up to 2027.
These developments point to a political pattern that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore: key figures who once occupied strategic positions within Professor Pantami’s political structure are steadily taking a different political direction, while support continues to consolidate around Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna’s governorship aspiration.
Accordingly, these political decisions reflect the changing political dynamics in Gombe State and the growing confidence in the direction of the APC, as the state approaches another defining political season.
