The Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, was among dignitaries who attended the third graduation ceremony of Blazing Star International School, Farawa, Kano.
The colourful ceremony, held at Salma Event Centre, brought together educationists, parents, friends, relations and members of the community to celebrate the achievements of the graduating pupils and encourage continued investment in education.
The Proprietress of the school, Hajiya Zahra Usman Bakare, while tracing the history and development of the institution, said the school had been highly motivated by the support of her husband, Alhaji Mustapha Sambo Hassan, whom she described as a pillar committed to the advancement of education and the development of society.
She said the school was established with the vision of providing quality education and nurturing children to become responsible, disciplined and productive members of society.
The Chairman of the occasion, Professor Garba Sambo Hassan of the University of Maiduguri, congratulated the graduands and wished them success and fulfilment in their future academic pursuits.
Professor Sambo described education as the backbone of every meaningful development, stressing that no society could achieve sustainable progress without a strong and functional education system.
He therefore urged parents to take an active interest in the education and upbringing of their children by constantly monitoring their academic progress, character and social development.
According to him, parental involvement remains essential in helping children grow into responsible adults capable of contributing positively to society.
The ceremony featured educational performances, cultural presentations and entertainment by pupils from different categories of the school. It also included the presentation of prizes and awards to pupils who distinguished themselves academically and in other areas of school activities.
The event was attended by friends, relatives and well wishers, including former Managing Director of Hikima Radio, Muhammad Musa Inya; Hajiya Binta Sambo Hassan; Fatima Garba Sambo; Halima Sambo Hassan, among others.
The graduation ceremony served not only as a celebration of academic achievement but also as a reminder of the shared responsibility of parents, schools and society in building an educated, responsible and productive generation.
