FUBK Promotes One To Professor, Four To Readers

The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has approved the promotion of five academic staff to the ranks of Professor and Reader.
The promotion was approved at the Council’s 33rd meeting held on Tuesday, 15th September, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Col. Abdulmumini Aminu (Rtd).
According to a statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations, Jamilu M. Magaji, the promotion followed recommendations by External Assessors and the Senior Staff Appointments and Promotions Committee.
The statement said Dr. Ologe Oluwatoyin of the Department of Applied Geophysics was promoted to the rank of Professor of Exploration Geophysics.
Those promoted to Reader are Dr. Sa’adu Umar Wali of Geography, now Reader in Ground Water Hydrology; Dr. Danyaya Muhammad Shehu of History and International Studies, Reader in International Relations and Diplomacy; Dr. Saratu Muhammad Mera of Educational Foundations, Reader in Educational Management; and Dr. Nensok Hassan Mohammed of Building Technology, Reader in Materials & Structures (Construction Technology).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Zaiyan Umar, on behalf of Council, congratulated the newly promoted staff and wished them continued success in their academic and professional endeavours.
