The Senate of Northwest University Kano (NWUK) has approved the expulsion of 34 students for their involvement in examination malpractice.

The decision was announced in a statement signed by Abubakar Ibrahim on behalf of the Registrar, Dr. Adm. Isyaku Adamu.

According to the statement, the decision was reached during the University’s 66th Regular Senate Meeting, held on Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, 2026, while considering the Second Semester 2024/2025 examination results. The disciplinary action was taken in line with the University’s Examination Regulations as outlined in the Students’ Handbook.

In addition to the expulsions, the Senate approved the rustication of 18 students and issued warning letters to 22 others for various examination-related offences.

The statement also revealed that one student, Rukayya Ahmad Zukuri, was cleared of all allegations after her case was reviewed.

Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining academic integrity, the University urged students to comply strictly with examination rules and regulations, warning that any breach would attract appropriate disciplinary measures.
