Governor Yusuf Never Influence, Interfere In The Releases Or Handling The Case Of Thugs, AG

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Kano State, Barrister Abdlkarim Kabiru Maude, has strongly dismissed allegations and clarified that neither Governor Yusuf nor the State Government, have ever directed or influenced the released of any criminal involved in Thuggery activities.
The Attorney General, in a released issued by his PRO, Najib Lawan Dambazau, Tuesday, emphasized that rather the Governor has consistently provided unwavering support to the Ministry of Justice and all relevant agencies in the fight against crime and in the promotion of the rule of law.
He asked all residents of the State to support government efforts aimed at bringing an end to the menace of thuggery, gang violence, and related criminal activities in the metropolis and across the state.
The Justice Commissioner, reaffirmed his Ministry commitment to ensuring that every individual arrested in connection with thuggery, violent attacks, public disturbances, or any act capable of threatening public peace is diligently prosecuted in accordance with the law, without fear, favour, bias, or discrimination.
“I call on all members of the public to cooperate with government in the collective effort to eradicate thuggery and criminal violence in Kano State. The Ministry of Justice is fully prepared to prosecute anyone found culpable of engaging in thuggery, violence, or acts of lawlessness. We are determined to withstand any pressure or challenges from any quarter in our pursuit of justice and accountability,” the Attorney-General stated.
The Attorney-General appealed to traditional leaders, community stakeholders, civil society organizations, religious leaders, and security agencies to continue supporting the Ministry’s efforts toward restoring lasting peace and security across the state.
He assured the public that any suspect arrested for involvement in thuggery or criminal violence would be promptly charged to court and made to face the full consequences of their actions in accordance with the law.
Maude also urged security agencies to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering, and lawful operations aimed at identifying, arresting, and bringing perpetrators of criminal activities before competent courts for prosecution.
The Attorney-General reiterated the commitment of the Kano State Government and the Ministry of Justice to the successful implementation of the Kano First Agenda, particularly in ensuring public safety, justice, and the protection of lives and property.
He further called on residents to assist security agencies by providing credible and timely information regarding the activities and whereabouts of criminal elements within their communities, stressing that public cooperation remains critical to winning the fight against crime.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation to the people of Kano State for their continued support, cooperation, and confidence in the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He prayed for sustained peace, unity, progress, and prosperity for Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.
