Durbar, Horse Riding Violators Risk Arrest, Police

The Kano Police Command, has issued stance warning on Horse Riding, by the two warring Emirs of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi ii and Aminu Ado Bayero, that anybody who violate banning order would be arrested.
“That any person, institution or organization that deems it very pertinent to undertake any form of Durbar, and/or Horse/Animal-Riding activity in public place in the State is required to give at least 72 hours prior notice in writing to the Kano State Police Command through the Office of the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori”.
Speaking to newsmen on the account of a threats by the 15th Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero that, “nobody will stop him from going on Horse Riding despite government banned”, the State Police Commissioner Dr Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said anybody who violate the order will be arrested.
He said anybody who want to carried on the horse Riding should inform Police 72 hours to enable necessary security assessment and arrangements for public safety and order.
“It would be recalled that the Kano State Government, after due consultations with relevant security stakeholders in the state and in its efforts to preserve public peace and order in the State, recently pronounced a ban on all forms of Durbar and Horse-riding activities throughout the State. Reports indicate apparent breaches of these security directives.”
He said, the Kano State Police Command in conjunction with relevant Security Agencies in the State hereby reiterate, that these executive security directives so issued regarding the ban on Durbar/Horse-riding activities, are still in force and binding on all persons in the State, irrespective of status or position.
” The threats which necessitated the ban were put to serious checks and are still potent.”
“As you are aware, the primary responsibility of the Law Enforcement and Security Agencies is the maintenance of public peace, safety and order. We cannot afford to allow any act that will breach the peace and jeopardize public safety.”
Bakori said, for the avoidance of doubt, in order to strengthen security coordination and to ensure proper security coverage, the order stands.
“All concerned are therefore urged to comply strictly with all lawful security directives and to cooperate with the security agencies.”
